Crochet ornaments

Well, I really am moving on with my projects. Tonight I got the ornaments on my little tree.

Through the years I have occasionally had one or two crocheted ornaments on my tree and I wondered what it would look like to have a tree entirely decorated with crochet ornaments.

 The tree topper is a last minute improvisation that did not want to stay straight ... just ignore it.

Angels we have heard on high...

 Snowflakes, no two are the same (some are very close though!).

I heard the bells on Christmas day...

Snowflakes!!!

Ta Da!

Christmas Bells
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

 I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth good-will to men.

Till ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
There is no peace on earth, I said;
For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep;
God is not dead; nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!

The poem is set to music in the video below.
Hoping you have a wonderful peaceful weekend!

Hi Valerie... Your crocheted ornaments are so pretty. They remind me so much of my Grandmother who had similar ones on her Christmas tree every year.

Hope you are faring well weather wise over there in North Dakota. We've gotten quite a bit of snow here in the Minneapolis area this week. I'm sick of the snow and cold temps already and it's not even officially winter yet. It's going to be a long, cold, snowy and miserable five months before I'll be able to enjoy the weather again. I'm already looking foward to those hot and humid summer days.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week!!

Kim

Valerie this Christmas tree is absolutely lovely! My aunt made me an angel one year that still hangs on my tree. I think your tree is one of the most beautiful I've seen in blogland ♥
