Tea Things Tuesday

IT'S TEA THINGS TUESDAY!!!!

A fun weekly event hosted by Kim at
http://shabbypinkandpretty.blogspot.com

Today we have our tea things on a tray. This is a good time of year for our Brown Betty teapot and Homer Laughlin Kingston Wheat pattern dishes. These dishes are from the late 1940s and are well suited for autumn.

The little plaque reads, "Don't let the grass grow on the path of friendship." This was a gift from a fellow waitress when I quit my waitress job in west Texas . Those were some interesting years, the people, the stories.... but I digress,

Brown Betty is sitting on this cute little leaf trivet I picked up for around a dollar while out thrifting. Our tea of choice was Sweet Oolong Revolution by Tevana, very tasty indeed!

Happy Autumn and Happy Tea Things Tuesday!!!!

Hi, Valerie,
Homer Laughlin china is some of my favorites!! I love the way you made your tea for autumn. The jack o lantern is just the right touch, too. Happy Tea Things Tuesday to you!! Vicki p.s. Now you have me curious as to where you lived in West Texas. I was born in Hale Center between Lubbock and Amarillo. Vicki

Hi, Valerie,
Interesting that you lived in Abilene. I passed through there many times on my way home to New Mexico when I was a student at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. Small world isn't it? Vicki

Oh Valerie, what a wonderful display of tea treasures you put together to share with us today. You got really creative with this one by making it a Fall/Halloween themed tea for one!!

Don't you just love Teavana teas?? They have a Teavana store about 20 minutes from where I live and it is a tea lovers heaven with their huge selection of flavored loose teas. I always stock up this time of year as I know I'll be drinking lots of tea during the long cold winter months.

Hi Valerie...I have two sets of Homer Laughlin...so pretty and delicate...yours are beautiful, especially for autumn, and with "Jack" glowing in the dark, what else could you ask for? The brown betty teapots are always a favorite!

I waitressed at Denny's in Riverside, Ca., while in college...great fun and great food...those were good days.

God bless,
Mary

Hi Valerie...thanks for looking at my quilts..I didn't expect so many comments, since I wasn't connected to another blog by Mr. Linky! I do my best to be a Prov. 31 woman...I love what you said about a mother-in-law wanting their daughter-in-law to be their son's all in all! So true...I sure had those expectations...but my bubble got burst early on!LOL! Love your blog...always so nice to come and get filled up with your pretty posts and words that reflect your love of our Lord. I'm amazed at the Christian women that blog! I was thinking that I wasn't being a good steward of my time by blogging, but I'm finding it to be a wonderful source of refreshing and encouragement. I still have to watch my time, but I feel differently about it now, so as long as my "sisters" are in it, so am I!

God bless,
Mary
