WIP Wednesday - green doily

Well I finished my Afternoon Tea green doily.

The pattern is in the Leisure Arts Tea Time Doilies book. I used a #6 hook and it turned out to be right about 18 inches which is not too far from the pattern at 17-3/4 inches.

I ended up having to re-do about 6 rows toward the end because of a couple of careless errors. Don't you just hate careless errors?!

In the end it was well worth the re-do.

I have to say this is one of my favorite doilies so far. It will go well with my Old Country Roses.

This week I plan on creating a fancy cardboard blocking board ...

and using it to block these ornaments for a little tree I picked up not long ago.

I am joining Marie Anne for Work in Progress Wednesday.

Please go over and visit her at http://macrochet.blogspot.com/ and see what everyone else has been up to.

That is an amazing green doily! WOW!! I'm so impressed--I'm quite sure if I ever attempt doilies, they won't be this beautiful! Gorgeous work, perfect stitches, you are very talented.

Do you block all your doilies?

The ornaments are so pretty, too. What a nice tree that will make. ;-)

How beautiful, Valerie. I would NEVER attempt to sew, knit, crochet, EVAH! Mother fired me as a student, chuckle!

Have a beautiful & blessed Thanksgiving holiday.

Hi Mindy,
I have hand blocked my doilies but never pinned them. I think the ornaments will need pinned, especially the snowflakes, to make the angles really sharp. Thank you for the comment!

Hi Valerie! OH, this doily is so beautiful! You do such a great job with your crocheting. I love the pattern and love that you're using colored thread. My grandmother used lots of colored threads in her doilies.
Be a sweetie and thanks for popping in to see me.

Goodness, that doily is beautiful. I wish ... sigh.

Love the ornaments for the tree!

Oh Wow... Valerie, your handiwork is amazing. So much intricate detail in the doilies. I don't think I'd ever have the patience for that kind of crafting. I'd get too frustrated and would quite after 10 minutes.

Hope you're having a great weekend and that the weather isn't too nasty where you are. Last weekend we got all the snow, now last night and this morning, we are getting freezing rain here in the Minneapolis area. Kinda bad timing when a person wants to get out and do some Christmas shopping.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend and have a great week!!
