Evening in Paris

Some years ago, I had a blue period. Literally, a cobalt blue period. My children were clearing out and moving on with their lives and I decided to surround myself with this lovely color. At the same time my mother was trying to clear out some of her things, scale down some. She asked if there was anything I could think of that I wanted. Well, there was this perfume she had, had as long as I could remember, Evening in Paris (in a cobalt blue bottle) and I asked for it. My mama shared that this was a very special perfume when she was in high school, and after. If a guy really liked you this is what he would give you. She used it very sparingly and the bottle is still pretty much full.

My mom passed on 6 years ago and you know I never thought to ask her if it was from my dad, ha. I don't think she had opened it for years. I had never opened it. My 20 year old son (the baby of 5, still at home, in college for accounting), right before I took this picture said oh, what's this, opened it up and smelled it. I'm glad he did because that meant I got to and you know what, it still smells good!
